You Are Not a Runner

A language model is made of language, and for it the words are the whole thing. We talk about ourselves the same way. A note on what stops you learning something, and why you cannot argue it away.

A language model is made of language. It read what we wrote down and it predicts what comes next, which makes it very good at the thinking that is already settled. There is nothing under the words.

We talk about ourselves the same way. At the halfway point of the Miami Marathon the words in my head were clear: stop, you cannot do this, you are not a runner. The third one was not about the race.
